Level of personality functioning reflects the severity of personality pathology. The Level of Personality Functioning Scale – Self-report (LPFS-SR) is designed to measure the global level of personality functioning, which is a criterion of the Alternative Model of Personality Disorders in Section III of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders-5 (DSM-5; APA, 2013). The items of the scale and its four subcomponents are based on the categories and terms provided by DSM-5. The scale has been adapted to Turkish. Explanatory and confirmatory factor analyses were performed, and concurrent validity was tested using certain scales known to measure different personality-related variables. It can be concluded that the scale is unidimensional, which is consistent with the original English study. In this study, data were collected from a nonclinical sample, and the unidimensional nature of the scale was supported. It can be concluded that the Turkish form of the LPFS-SR has sufficient statistical support to measure the level of personality functioning, and further testing of the psychometric properties of the scale in clinical samples is supported. The implications of the findings are provided in the discussion section.

Kişilik işlevselliğinin düzeyi, kişilik patolojisinin ciddiyetini yansıtan bir kavramdır. Kişilik İşlevselliğinde Bozulmalar Ölçeği-Öz Bildirim Formu (KİD-ÖBÖ), Ruhsal Bozuklukların Tanısal ve İstatistiksel El Ki-tabı-5’in üçüncü kısmında yer alan Kişilik Bozuklukları İçin Alternatif Modelin (KBAM), A kriteri olan kişiliğin işlevsellik düzeyini ölçmek için tasarlanmış bir ölçektir (APA, 2013). Ölçeğin maddeleri ve ölçeğin dört alt bileşeni, Ruhsal Bozuklukların Tanısal ve İstatistiksel El Kitabı-5’in üçüncü kısmında yer alan kategori ve ifadelere dayanmaktadır. Bu çalışmada ölçeğin Türkçe uyarlaması yapıldı. Açımlayıcı ve doğrulayıcı faktör analizi yapıldı ve kişilik ile ilgili farklı değişkenleri hali hazırda ölçtüğü bilinen ölçekler ile eş zamanlı geçerlilik test edildi. Çalışmanın sonucunda ölçeğin İngilizce orijinal çalışmasıyla tutarlı bir biçimde tek boyutlu olduğu sonucuna varıldı. Türkiye’de ve klinik olmayan örneklemden veri toplanarak yapılan bu uyarlama çalışmasında da ölçeğin tek boyutlu doğası çoğunlukla desteklendi. KİD-ÖBÖ’nün, kişilik işlevsellik düzeyini ölçmek için yeterli istatistiksel desteğe sahip olduğu söylenebilir. Ölçeğin psikometrik özelliklerinin, klinik örneklemde de test edilmesi desteklenmektedir. Bulgulardan ulaşılan çıkarımlar, tartışma bölümünde aktarıldı.
